The Clarus Mission

As strong post-secondary students, we have experienced first hand what it takes to succeed academically. With each step we took along our unique educational paths, there were two things that consistently determined our success: our complete understanding of foundational concepts, and our ability to apply those concepts with confidence and flexibility.

From our experiences, we have found that students who struggle with a particular subject are often having trouble with one or both of these criteria for success. Last-minute tutoring sessions can be a "quick-fix" that allows the student to pass the next day's test, but something more is needed for the student to truly learn and achieve their full potential, rather than just "squeezing by". With this in mind, we established Clarus Educational Centre to help secondary students gain the knowledge and confidence that they need to succeed.

Hence, we believe that:

• A strong understanding of basic concepts is an essential foundation for learning.

• The crossover from conceptual learning to practical problem solving is an important but often difficult process.

• Interaction and personal attention enhance a student's quality of education and interest in learning.

• Students often make the best educators and mentors.
